0:37 1 Stand straight, lean forward, whilst trying to brace on the ground in front of you. Hold your hands at the same distance as you would to hold the shaft of your paddle and keep rocking forward and backward, trying to find balance.
1:01 2 Ask your friend to take your tail and stabilize your boat from the bank with their leg while you hold bow stall. With time, try to hold it more on your own and less with help of your friend.
1:45 3 Do a bow stall on the pool’s edge. There should be about a length of your torso gap between the edge and your kayak. Remember to move your boat away from the edge so if you fall you can dodge it. Wear a helmet! Hold the balance with your legs instead of your hands.
2:02 4 Move the boat to and from the pool’s edge to try different balance points with your body.
2:15 5 Rock the boat up and down by pushing your boat out of the water. Start with gentle small moves and build towards bigger ones.
2:33 6 Rock the boat up and down by pushing your feet in and hips out of the water.

4:15 11 Practice rocking the boat up and down by pushing your feet in and hips out of the water. Try to keep your paddle at similar level close to the surface.
