Pelvic Side Lying Release (PSLR) originated from Dr Carol Phillips of dynamicbodybalancing
PSLR is a part of OMP's Pelvic Alignment Protocol to be used during pregnancy, and when needed during labor and birth. PSLR has many benefits however its primary function is to align the pelvic floor.
A few guidelines can be helpful with PSLR:
It is important for PSLR to be done on both sides;
PSLR can be done anytime during her pregnancy;
If a pregnant mother is experiencing any pain in her pubic symphysis joints, she will not be able to do this exercise;
Should a mother be expecting twins or more, or needs support in her belly, she can wear a belly belt or tie a scarf over her belly for additional support.
As a rule of thumb for all the protocols, a pregnant mother should not experience any pain during these exercises. Always start with 3-5 breaths and slowly work your way up to holding the positions for at least 3-5minutes to achieve a fascia release.
