NCERT Textbook Under Fire After Supreme Court Criticism | Grade 8 Book Banned?

Описание: A controversy has erupted after the Supreme Court criticised a paragraph in a Grade 8 NCERT textbook. The paragraph mentioned corruption and pending cases in the judiciary.

The Supreme Court directed that all copies of the book be banned and not distributed. The Chief Justice of India raised objections and ordered that the content be revised. Notices were also sent to the central government and the head of NCERT.

The Union Education Minister expressed regret over the issue, saying it was “very sad what happened” and clarified that there was no intention to insult the judiciary.

The matter has now sparked a major debate over textbook content and respect for constitutional institutions.
