I recently had the opportunity to shoot two WW2 reenactments as a participant, using a Korean War Graflex Speed Graphic 4x5 film camera. I learned a lot, made some really dumb mistakes, and most importantly got some pretty cool shots.
In this video I briefly explain how I went about taking the photos, how I set up my gear, what mistakes I made, and what I learned. I also compare reenactment combat to real combat.
I tried to keep this short, so I left out a lot of details. Please let me know if you’d like to know specifics. Thanks guys.
Film used: Fomapan 400
Focus method: hyperfocal distance; aperture at f22, focus locked at 30 feet, wire frame finder used to compose shots. Everything from roughly 15 feet to infinity was in acceptable focus.
