Particularly passionate about spreading the word on sustainable menstruation, Smita will be enlightening us about the same as well as encouraging us to go green by introducing us to stories of numerous women including herself who overcame the mental block of insertion which led both to a comfortable cycle for them and also helped the environment. The talk emphasises on the importance of the co-relation between health and the environment.It introduces various other menstrual products which are comfortable, reusable, eco-friendly as well as easy to use. We hope that this talk helps and empowers women to talk about menstruation without inhibitions and break the taboos surrounding this issue.

Smita Kulkarni is one of the founding members of Bangalore Eco Team(BeT) that is a congregation of city-wide volunteers working on Solid Waste Management initiatives. She has been instrumental in getting plastic ban implemented in HSR Layout and has worked with many other wards to spread the movement across Bangalore and beyond.
