Join me for a serene winter stroll through Oulu's Ainola Park. Captured on 28.2.2026 Kalevala Day.

-Our Journey Begins: Starting at Dammansaaret, we cross by the Rapumaja. The waterways, usually bustling with life, are now frozen solid in the deep mid-winter.

-Folklore & History: I pass by the infamous Witness Stone of 1865, freshlyblanketed in snow. Local legends whisper that this is where the devil jumped back to hell centuries ago.

-Arquitecture in Nature: We visit the Hupisaaret Summer Theater. Though closed for the season, its unique columns-designed to look like towering spruce trees-hold up a canopy roof that mimics the forest itself.

-Bird Feeders. Nearby bird feeders are placed for our feathered neighbours that need to be feed during the starkling winter.

Urban Contrast: Our walk concludes with a trek towards downtown through the highway underpassses, where vibrant graffitti art breaks up the ubiquitous palette of winter grey, white, and icy blues.
