Planting Wild Passionflower Seeds

Описание: Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.🍀 Would like to welcome you each out to my backyard on this beautiful partly cloudy warm day. Today we are going to be planting some beautiful passionflower seeds that I wild harvested last year.

The passion flower, also known as the Maypop because it pops out of the ground in May, is actually native to the southeastern United States and can be seen growing along roadsides, open fields, and even in some wooded areas.

Maypop is the common name given to the passion flower species that is native to North America, P. incarnata, specifically the Southeastern US. It is hardy in zones 5- 8 and can withstand winter temperatures of -4⁰F. It is a vine that grows to 8 feet.

Direct sow seeds or start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to planting in the spring or fall. Plant seeds ¼” deep, keep moist and give them high humidity for the seeds to germinate.
