In the run up to the Assembly election in Bihar, the baton has been officially handed to Tejashwi Yadav to lead the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Mr. Yadav’s stature increased in the party with the passing of a resolution that equals his power to that of the RJD’s national president, a position occupied by his father and party supremo, Lalu Prasad.
The resolution was passed on Saturday (January 18, 2025) during the RJD’s national executive committee meeting in Patna, where senior leaders of the party, including MPs, MLAs and MLCs, were present along with Mr. Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, and eldest daughter Misa Bharti.
