Lake of the Woods is a true institution to the town of Kenora, Ontario. The original brewery dates back to 1898, when the brewery opened its doors in the town’s downtown. Unable to compete with the large macro beer giants of the 20th century, Lake of the Woods closed their doors in 1954.
Into the 21st century the brewery has been revived and then some! Lake of the Woods Brewing Company now has brewery locations in Ontario, Manitoba and Minnesota. All three regions touch the shores of Lake of the Woods.
