Crews battled a third-alarm fire with hazmat near 59th and Glendale avenues Saturday afternoon. Glendale fire officials say the fire was at a plastic recycling yard. The fire department originally received a call about an unknown fire at about 6:05 p.m. When crews were on the way, they learned that it was a semi-truck and trailer on fire with exposure to a building. Glendale Police Department arrived first on the scene and reported an explosion that was possibly a fuel tank.
