There is so much I could say about this extraordinary character portrayed by an as equally extraordinary actor. I’ve always loved Snape, since the very beginning I knew something was odd about him. He wasn’t the villain they wanted us to believe, quite the contrary actually. He was a true hero who deserved so much better.

I wish he saw more of him in the movies, like what truly happened between him and the marauders – that the bullying started only because Severus admitted he wished to be sorted into Slytherin, the fact that Severus was almost killed by Lupin because of Black, etc – or see his return to the Dark Lord after Dumbledore ordered him to, how he tried to protect Harry during a Quidditch game by being the referee, etc.
Small things that could’ve pushed the fans to look beyond the mask of the bastard, greasy git of the dungeons. Luckily his full story is written in the books and we can read it over and over again, forever.

As I said, this character was portrayed by an extraordinary actor, Alan Rickman. I was a big fan of him and my heart literally broke into thousands of pieces when I learnt he died. ☹ one of my biggest whishes was to meet him. Since I never had the honor to meet him, I decided to get a tattoo in his memory. I have the word “always” tattooed on my ankle that represents my love for both Alan and Severus.
