I backpacked into Joshua Tree National Park and found one of the most incredible campsites I've ever slept at - high on a mountain, overlooking the entire desert below.
From a glowing desert sunset to a peaceful sunrise above Joshua Tree, this overnight backpacking trip was everything I love about travel in the backcountry: silence, space, and perspective. I'll take you along as I hike in, set up camp, experience the nigh above the park, and hike out the next morning.
