NYC Subway: R62A (4) train ride from Franklin Avenue to 3rd Avenue-138th Street.

Welcome back to the channel everyone. Today in this video, we have a ride on board an R62A (4) train in car #1736 from Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College to 3rd Avenue-138th Street via Eastern Parkway Express, Joralemon Street Tunnel, Lexington Avenue Local and (well... kind of) Pelham Local.

Due to track and switch replacement north of 125th Street that weekend, the following service changes occurred.

(4) trains were not running between 125th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse, with trains from the southern section running to/from the 3rd Avenue-138th Street station on the (6) line. In addition to this, (4) trains in the southern section were running local between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and 125th Street in both directions as well.

(5) trains were not running between East 180th Street and Bowling Green.

Free shuttle bus service was available between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and 3rd Avenue-138th Street stations while making a stop at 138th Street-Grand Concourse.

In addition, Metro-North would also cross-honor (4) train customers.

As a result of these service changes, the southern section had no access to Jerome Yard (where the (4) line's fleet is maintained). So a few (I don't know how many) R62A sets were loaned from the (6) line for that weekend. (One of them is shown in this video)

I want to point out between Atlantic Avenue and Bowling Green, I recorded out the front window. I originally planned to do it for the whole ride but when we got to Bowling Green, I had to back away because the train operator saw me recording out the front window. Fortunately, I didn't get into trouble but for the remainder of the ride, I didn't record out the front window as I didn't want to get the T/O's attention again.
