Mini Fabric covered photo wallet.
I give a review of how to cut and prepare the of this wallet.
You need one 12x12 piece of cardstock.
Measurements are:
1) Cut off a 4 inch slice across the bottom of the page. This is the cover.
2) Trim one side so your piece measures
4" x 8.5"
3) SCORE AT:
3.25, 3.50, 6-5/8, 6-7/8.
4) Fold on these scores.
Set aside.
Main piece:
5) With the 8" edge at the top, score the entire 12" length in the center-
at the 4" mark.
6) Fold in both directions.
7) Turn the paper, and score every 3 inches.
You will now have 8 equal sections.
8) Cut the long center score through only 3 sections, leaving the last one intact.
9) Fold all your score lines and create 3 sections, plus front and back single layer panels.
10) Determine the position of your pull cutouts. I used a 2" oval punch. Use any tool you wish. Reference the diagram in my video.
11) AT THIS POINT, DECIDE IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEW IN ANY FRAMES AND ACETATE WINDOWS. Complete any sewing before gluing the pockets closed.
12) Glue the edges closed to form 3 pockets.
THE COVER
IF YOU ARE USING FABRIC:
13) Adhere a thin batting to cover front. trim all around flush to the edges.
14) Fabric: cut a piece measuring:
5.25 " wide x 18" long. Press in half across 5.25" width.
15) A little basting spray is helpful here.
Place the flap end of your cover into the cover fabric and secure either with adhesive, or by stitching through all layers between the two score lines.
16) Fold cover to allow ease on the top layer. Then secure it the same way within the second pair of score lines.
17) You now have the edges at the wider section of the cover to finish off. I folded my fabric in and stitched through all the layers to secure it. You can do all this sewing by hand if you want to, or do it entirely with adhesives.
18) Secure the long edges on both sides,
then trim with pinking shears , or overlock, or leave a plain, raw edge.
19) Add your book to the cover. Start with the flap to the right, place your booklet in the channel on the left side.
Secure the spine, then glue each flap of the booklet down, checking alignment as you go.
20) Place under a heavy weight and let it dry overnight.
21) Add Your Closure!
22) Decorate and Enjoy!
I tried to locate the original source of this project. It may have been from Pink Fresh Studios, but I'm not 100% sure.
If you know, please comment so I can give proper credits!
Thanks for watching!
