However, Uttarakhand has disallowed the pilgrimage this year. In this regard, The Supreme court gave 48 hours to the Uttar Pradesh government to reconsider its decision and come back with a response on Monday, otherwise, the court will pass an order. Whereas, The Uttar Pradesh government filed an affidavit and told the Supreme Court that it has decided to hold only a "symbolic" Kanwar Yatra with appropriate COVID-19 restrictions.
