This video is a starting point for the channel and an invitation into how I read stories mythologically. Rather than treating myths as puzzles to decode or lessons to apply, I approach them as living narratives that change depending on where we are in our own lives. Meaning, in this sense, isn’t extracted from a story—it’s encountered.
To explore that approach, I use the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as a test case, focusing on the famous moment when Orpheus looks back. Instead of asking whether he was right or wrong, we’ll explore the different human impulses that moment might represent—and what happens when we imagine the story from Eurydice’s point of view as well. If you’re interested in stories as mirrors, not morals, this is a good place to begin.
