Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos arrived in New Delhi on Monday (August 4) for a state visit.
Marcos met India's Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (August 5), over a five-day trip.
The President said the visit intends to deepen maritime ties and to seek cooperation on sectors including defence, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.
The Philippine and Indian navies earlier sailed together for the first time in the South China Sea, officials said Monday.
