This week's older board game gem is a request: The Hanging Gardens, published by Hans im Glück in 2008. Players draft and play cards into their growing garden, with new cards overlapping existing ones. If you can get the cards' icons together and place a temple on them, you can claim point tiles, which score more and more if you get many of the same type. Players have a lot of control as to how the cards get placed on top of each other, and the results are uniquely organic (if not particularly evocative) gardens.

Board Gems is a weekly video series highlighting board games that aren't talked about much any more — maybe they're a bit old (though not usually crazy old), or maybe they didn't make a big splash when they came out — but are still great games today, and deserve to not be forgotten!
