Hi fellow pyro lovers out there,
Welcome back to Pyrography for beginners and beyond by Flames pyro art.
Firstly, I wanted to apologise for the time between the last session of the skull series to this latest installment.
Some family health issues had to take me away from our project but I am slowly being able to film again.
Today's session takes a look at beginning to shape the exterior of our skull.
I'm using the medium spear shader by the Optima range and kept my heat setting at 2 and a half throughout.
When looking to create depth and shape with our pyrography art, we really need to get those tonal values (shading) spot on.
Darker shading Will give the illusion that a part of the skull is further away from the eye, when sat near a much lighter area.
Remember to always burn in the direction of the shape you are trying to show, and gradually build your depth of shading by layering the area over and over.
That is the burn low and slow method in a nutshell. Keeping that heat under your control at all times, and building your depth of shading by making many passes over the area.
This will really pay off later in the piece and you will be so pleased with the final results.
It takes patience, which is a skill to learn in itself. I have been known to spend several hours on just one eye in the past as I search for that perfect moment.
Finally, thank you so much for support and for watching some of the content. I hope you took something away from the session.
Don't forget to leave me any comments if you wish, and maybe leave me a like or hit the subscribe button to be notified of new content coming at you very soon.
