The Cabot Trail - driving round Cape Breton's beautiful northern coastline

Описание: The Cabot Trail is a 186 mile or 298 km road that winds its way over crests and down valleys through the stunning scenery that is the north of Cape Breton, an island just off Nova Scotia's northern tip. It is a magnet for tourists who flock here in multitudes in the summer months. We were lucky. We were here at the end of March so although we experienced some interesting road conditions as you'll see in this video, we also experienced empty roads and crisp frosty landscapes. One disappointment was that we couldn't do the skyline trail, a super scenic hike that takes you to some of the most spectacular viewpoints, because the snow stopped us being able to reach the car park. We had been stuck a few days before and had to turn around on a muddy track in another National Park so we didn't want to risk getting stuck up here.

We're Sarah and Ben, are a couple from the UK that have been travelling for many years. In 2020, when the world went crazy, we bought an empty Mercedes Sprinter van and started converting it into a fabulous home on wheels. Now, we have toured all round Europe, from the southern tip of Portugal, the easternmost shores of Bulgaria and the northernmost tip of Norway, over 300 miles into the Arctic.

To explore even more of this fabulous world, we have shipped our van over to Canada and we are embarking on an epic adventure that may eventually end in Ushuaia, the most southerly place it is possible to drive to. If we last that long.
