This layout from the 7777 Trains Ideas Book back in the 1980's would have been every kids dream to be able to have all the sets and the layout. I started out with the LEGO 7740 set which was given to me as a Christmas present from my parents when I was 8 years old.

I've kept my old LEGO sets and also collected many others to put this all together and also had to re-create some of the structures (e.g. raised supports, the bridge, etc) from the photos in the Trains Ideas Book. I also don't have all the required stop/go points and missing one or 2 models and quite a number of large cypress trees.

To my knowledge, this is the most accurate representation to date of the layout and scenery, I've also had to get MDF wood panels and painted them to match the ground and sky and also hand cut thin MDF panels to create the mountains/landscape. While not 100% accurate, it's the best I could do with limited resource and also limited floor space.

The size of this layout is 3.6m long and 1.8m wide (floor panel size).
