Joe’s other son, Chris, wants to marry Ann Deever, who was once Larry’s girlfriend. Ann also loves Chris. But Kate does not agree with their relationship. Her reason is clear — if Ann marries Chris, it means Larry is truly dead, and she doesn’t want to accept that.
Part Two – Hidden Crime and Old Wounds
Chris and Ann want to tell the family about their love. But they are afraid. Meanwhile, Ann’s brother George arrives. He has just visited their father, Steve, in jail and learned that Steve may actually be innocent.
George says that during the war, Joe and Steve sent faulty airplane parts that caused the deaths of 21 pilots. Joe put all the blame on Steve to save himself and stayed out of prison, while Steve was punished.
Part Three – Revelation of the Truth
