My 22nd year of existence: PROJECT 20 CHAPTER 4 (a photo album)

Описание: This video is the fourth chapter of a project that will hopefully last ten years. Since I turned twenty, I've created a piece of visual media every year, to remember what I am like at the age documented. This chapter specifically contains pictures taken from my 22nd birthday to my 23rd (august 3rd 2024 - august 3rd 2025).

This year's chapter (my 22nd year of existence) is a lot different than the past chapters. THIS IS INSPIRED BY NAN GOLDING'S photography work, which I've was lucky enough to witness in Milan, last October. I liked the photo slide system: raw and honest, it leaves no space for explanations and context.

Four years into this project, I've already seen the effects of this experiment on my memory. I seem to care about the changes I can see and the ones I can't. Looking at the past videos of this series, I'm sometimes surprised by pieces of clothing I'd forgotten about, posters that don't hang on my walls anymore, people I haven't talked to in a while, places I haven't been in forever.

Somehow, that is the ultimate purpose of this project: self-preservation. I don't know who I'm doing it for, I just know that forgetting things scares me to death, and this is sort of a time capsule for me and whoever will see this in the future. A personal and intimate way to say "I've been here, and I've existed in this way".
