On September 27, 2020, the West Chester Railroad of West Chester, Pennsylvania would use their Montreal Locomotive Works RS18u, number 1803, built for Canadian Pacific in 1958 as CP 8762.
The West Chester Railroad is a small tourist railroad in West Chester, PA, 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia. The railroad operates multiple historic locomotives including 1803, an ALCO/MLW C424, an EMD GP9 and more. This railroad’s excursion train is definitely worth the money, with 90 minute round trips to enjoy America’s golden age of passenger railroading. The railroad starts operating again on March 27, with their Easter Bunny Express trains. I highly recommend booking a ticket and visiting, especially if you have kids.
