Unheard voices of the English Country house: Some recent work from English Heritage
In this session, hosted by English Heritage, we will look at recent creative collaborative projects which have explored and presented narratives of colonialism and transatlantic slavery at English Heritage sites.
Eleanor Matthews and Joe Savage will talk about Brodsworth Hall, near Doncaster, where public art was used to engage with slavery connections.
Megan Leyland and Harriet Parry will talk about the ‘Marble Hill Revived’ project, with a particular focus on contemporary resonance work.
Kirsty McCarrison and Kemka Ajoku will outline English Heritage’s youth engagement project, Shout Out Loud, looking in particular at the ‘England’s New Lenses’ initiative.
