A group of residents in the north-western New South Wales town of Brewarrina have gone on strike, refusing to pay their electricity bills.
This comes after families in the community of Barwon Falls realised they were being asked to pay double the amount of money for standard rental fees.
A local leader, Isaac Gordon has established the Brewarrina Tenancy Committee to address the problem.
He recently visited a three-bedroom home where a family was paying 420 dollars a fortnight just for electricity.
