Former Soldier Reveals Shocking Experiences

In this video, a former solider of a people’s militia and military council shares his personal experiences of mistreatment by Myanmar’s military council in Kachin State.

While serving in a people’s militia unit formed in Hkawnglanghpu Township, he witnessed serious misconduct by a military captain, including unfair treatment within the camp. He also explains how the military opened fire on the militia camp, forcing members to flee.

The speaker, Kham Sar, previously served as a deputy sergeant in Light Infantry Battalion 701 (Hmawbi) before joining the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) in 2023. He recounts his experiences inside the military and the challenges he faced.

This video highlights the realities inside militia units, internal abuses, and the experiences of those who chose to leave the system.
