In this video, I explain the "Cake for Dinner" analogy and how it answers the question of how to respond to OCD thoughts.
Stop arguing with your intrusive thoughts! If a toddler screamed at you because they wanted cake for dinner, you wouldn't debate them with a PowerPoint presentation—you'd tell them to eat their green beans.
As an OCD specialist, I see so many people trying to "logic" their way out of OCD. But here's the truth: arguing with the thought IS a compulsion.
