The model reviewed here is the RLX featuring the Advanced Package which gets you a host of safety, convenience, and technology features. Some of these systems include the Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with low speed follow, heated and ventilated seats, and parking sensors.

On the outside the 2014 Acura RLX looks much better in person than it does in photos. But this luxury sedan still blends in with the rest of the pack with its conservative style and mild lines. The front grill sports Acura's signature look while the Jewel Eye LED headlights are the latest interesting feature. The wheels are large 19-inch aluminum alloys designed to decrease noise. Out back the standard LED taillights look like a lot of other cars and are not very distinctive.

The engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 featuring VTEC that makes 310 horsepower and 272 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy for the 2014 Acura RLX is 20 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. Cylinder deactivation is a feature designed to shut down up to half of the engine's cylinder in an effort to save on gas.

One way that Acura is trying to differentiate itself from other luxury manufactures is though technology packed cars. There is a laundry list of technological features that includes Precision All-Wheel Steer, Agile Handling Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Rear View Camera, Acura Link, High End Audio, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Parking Sensors, and more.

The 2014 Acura RLX is like a big, comfortable, cushy Honda Accord. This new flagship sedan may just have to chops to carve out a spot in a very competitive market.
