Located at an altitude of 3,710 meters in the Mustang district, this temple is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. For Hindus, it is one of the 108 Divya Desams (sacred temples of Lord Vishnu), and for Buddhists, it’s a place where Guru Rinpoche meditated on his path to enlightenment.

The name “Muktinath” means the “Place of Liberation” — many believe that visiting this temple washes away all sins and brings moksha (freedom from the cycle of birth and death). The 108 water sprouts and eternal flame burning from natural gas add to its spiritual mystery and charm.

Surrounded by towering mountains and icy winds, Muktinath is a place where you don’t just travel — you feel something powerful. It’s one of those places where nature and divinity blend in perfect harmony.
