Sky News Australia host Andrew Bolt says the “dangerous” court battle brewing over the future of the Murdoch media has the potential to destroy the News Corp business and leave Australia without conservative voices.
In a blistering editorial on his Tuesday night program, Bolt spoke about Rupert Murdoch’s success in “offering a platform” for conservatives in the media.
“Much of the secret of Rupert's success is to offer a platform for conservatives in the media – The Sun and The Times in London for instance, Fox News and the New York Post in the US, Sky News and the newspapers in Australia,” Mr Bolt said.
“Think: if the Murdoch media empire did not exist – where would you hear a counterargument to the left?"
The battle over the future of the global media giant is back in the headlines after two lengthy articles over the weekend in The New York Times and The Atlantic.
