1956 Soletta 750 was a 22HP plastic “UFO” that snuck into the Geneva Motor Show — just to show off its suspension system. That’s right: engineer Willy Ernst Salzmann didn’t get a booth... so he built an entire car instead. 🇨🇭
What followed was one of the most surreal post-war microcars in history: 500 kg, rear-mounted motorcycle engine, modular plastic panels, and a suspension system smoother than Timmy’s pick-up lines (which says a lot).
In today’s video, we dig into how this fridge-sized oddball amazed Sir Alec Issigonis, conquered two motor shows, and earned cult status despite being weirder than a Swiss techno track.
