Body Mass Index, or commonly know as BMI is an indirect measurement of a person's body fatness.
It is calculated by dividing the person's weight in kg by the square of person's height in meters.
According to the standard BMI values,
Adults who have a BMI less than 18.5 are considered underweight.
Adults who have BMI values between 18.5 - 24.9 are considered healthy weight.
Adults who have BMI values between 25.0 - 29.9 are considered overweight.
Adults who have BMI values above 30.0 are considered obese.
But, these standard values may vary according to the geographic region.
So, it is always good if you refer the cut off values of the region where you live.
