Itanagar, January 31: The Save Arunachal Youth Association (SAYA) on Friday addressed a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club, Itanagar, alleging long-standing negligence of duty by the teaching staff of Government Upper Primary School, Ambam, under Pistana Circle in Keyi Panyor district.
The association claimed that the school has been running without a single student since 2019 due to alleged failure of teachers to discharge their duties, compelling parents to enroll their children in private schools. SAYA also raised concerns over possible misuse of government funds sanctioned for infrastructure development, mid-day meals, uniforms and other educational materials despite nil student enrolment.
Demanding transparency and accountability, SAYA urged the state government to institute a fair and impartial inquiry into the matter and take strict action against the headmaster, teaching staff and concerned education officials if the allegations are found to be true
