Описание: The Trump administration’s use of military personnel within the United States and military force beyond our borders, presents significant and urgent questions concerning the reach of executive power. The administration has deployed National Guard forces in American cities and launched military attacks on alleged drug traffickers in international waters. Additionally, President Trump has made repeated reference to the possibility of invoking the Insurrection Act to deploy the American military for domestic law enforcement purposes, against American citizens. The Neukom Center for the Rule of Law is pleased to welcome Stanford Law Visiting Professor and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution Professor Jack Goldsmith for a discussion of the presidential use of the military and its implications for executive power and democracy with Professors Bernadette Meyler and Diego Zambrano.
