The premise of this round is simple, and it was one of the most popular rounds of my live trivia game. I read a quote by Trump, O.J. Simpson, or Taylor Swift, and you decide which of the three said it. No trick wording or gotchas. Just context and how well you think you understand public figures who have spent a lot of time talking about themselves.

Across five questions, the quotes touch on ambition, jealousy, football, risk-taking, and the fear of mediocrity. Some of them come from interviews, some from public statements, and yes, one of them comes from a song lyric, which absolutely still counts. There are also detours into 1980s football leagues, calculated risks that weren’t quite as calculated as advertised, and the strange overlap between success, ego, and self-mythology.

This isn’t sports trivia or pop trivia, and it’s not meant to reward memorization. It’s about tone, perspective, and deciding who sounds like they would say something before finding out who actually did.

Play along, keep score if you want, and argue about the answers afterward. That part is encouraged.
