Here's How It Works:

The goal of the note-o-meter is for each class to earn "beats" for good behavior. Once a class earns a total of 20 beats, they get a prize (think dance party, YouTube video, etc.).

Each time a class comes to the music room, they start out on "Homer the Whole Note", giving them the potential to earn 4 beats towards their goal of 20. Each time you have to speak to a class about their negative behavior, the class moves down a level on the note-o-meter.

The note levels EARN the class beats towards their goal. The rest levels cause the class to LOSE beats. (Up to you if you allow classes to move back UP the note-o-meter in a given class period!)

Every time a class stays on "Homer the Whole Note", their individual class whole note (provided) gets to be displayed inside the "Note"worthy class poster for them to show off to everyone.

Use the note-o-meter beats record (provided) to keep track of each class's beats total, so they can easily see how close they are to achieving their goal of 20 beats and earning their prize.

Also included are bonus personifed eighth note characters, Aidan and Ava, and a "Meet the Notes" and "Meet the Rests" visual aid that shows the length of each note and rest.
