Japanese tuna dinner at a hidden izakaya in Osaka, just one minute from Umeda.
Tonight, I visited a quiet backstreet izakaya near Fukushima Station and enjoyed a full tuna-focused dinner in a renovated traditional Japanese house.
This restaurant specializes in tuna, offering small single-portion dishes that let you try many different cuts and cooking styles in one visit.
From chu-toro, o-toro, and rich naka-ochi sashimi to tuna cutlets, negitoro, grilled tuna skewers, and even bluefin tuna “spare rib” karaage, it was a true tuna feast.
Eating only tuna might sound simple, but with so many parts and preparations, it never gets boring.
The calm atmosphere, carefully prepared dishes, and warm hospitality made it a perfect solo izakaya night.
The shop appears to be run by a husband and wife, and they’ve created a very relaxed and comfortable space.
