English words easily confused - prescription, recipe, receipt
In the video you will be presented three English words that are easily confused, especially by Hungarians.
These words are:
prescription
recipe
receipt
The major problem tends to be on one hand the correct pronunciation of the words as many learners of English learnt these words in a written form instead of learning them first with the proper pronunciation. In the word "receipt" the /p/ is a silent letter and the word is often mispronounced with the /p/ in the word. Hungarian is a phonetic language which means that the sounds represented by the letters must be pronounced as a rule of thumb. The other problems come from the fact that in Hungarian the prescription is called "recept" and this very fact makes the word a perfect recipe for confusion. You will also see some pictures that help you identify and bond the correct pronunciation to the correct meaning.
