The deceased, Asad and Ghulam, were wanted in the murder of Umesh Pal and two policemen which was caught on camera. However, many opposition voices questioned the 'encounter justice' with ex-CM of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, even calling the encounter that killed Atiq's son as fake.
