2. SOUNDBITE (English) Gregory Bovino, Border Patrol Commander:
“This climate that we talk about is not very favorable right now in Minneapolis. Let’s put that as our first point, it's not very favorable to federal law enforcement here in Minneapolis. Let's take a look at what happened yesterday. Some of you may know that Border Patrol patrol and ICE were out conducting our Title Eight mission and several of our teams were set upon by violent protesters, anarchists, rioters – individuals and extremists that were intent on ensuring that we did not take these very people that Marcos talked about off the streets.”

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Gregory Bovino, Border Patrol Commander:
“Two days ago, we had two off-duty agents in a restaurant eating and they were descended upon by that violent mob and the staff of that restaurant in downtown Minneapolis decided to try to lock them in the restaurant with those 40 to 50 agitators. Minneapolis Police Department was called, they never showed up. Our agents were in there for 45 minutes and we called a tactical team that went out to extract those agents from that restaurant. So, that's what we're up against.”

“And U.S. Border Patrol work together and we continue to apprehend dozens if not hundreds of these criminal illegal aliens a day; we're gonna continue conducting that mission. We are not gonna put a date or a timeline to stop this mission. This mission is ongoing until there are no more of those criminal illegal aliens roaming the streets of Minneapolis.”
JOURNALIST: “Is there a number, though? You have to have a file...”
BOVINO: “There is a number and it's called all of them.”

STORYLINE:
Several names and photos of undocumented people and their alleged crimes were presented Thursday at a news conference.
Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino told reporters they were “walking the streets less than 24 hours ago.”
Bovino urged better cooperation from local and state officials in Minnesota and blamed an “influx of anarchists” on the contributing to the current anti-ICE climate in the state.
“How much better can we do what we do and how much better this work can be for you ... for the taxpayer?” Bovino asked. “The current climate confronting law enforcement ... is not very favorable right now in Minneapolis.”
Bovino criticized Minneapolis police, saying they have not responded to some requests for help from federal officers.
“Two days ago, we had two off-duty agents in a restaurant eating and they were descended upon by that violent mob," Bovino said.
"And the staff of that restaurant in downtown Minneapolis decided to try to lock them in the restaurant with those 40 to 50 agitators. Minneapolis Police Department was called. They never showed up. Our agents were in there for 45 minutes and we called a tactical team that went out to extract those agents from that restaurant. That's what we're up against as far as state and local help.”
“This mission is ongoing until there are no more of those criminal illegal aliens roaming the streets of Minneapolis,” he added.
