The Achill Sound is a collection of musicians and voices, from Achill Island, Co Mayo. The project combines Achill Island's history and culture told through traditional music and storytelling. The album "Isle of the Eagle" features recordings with two of the great Achill storytellers, John Twin McNamara and Francie McNamara (RIP) along with a host of native Achill musicians and musicians who moved there for the exceptional music scene.
With producer, John Michael Berry, whose family also hails from the island, Graham Sweeney has created an album celebrating the history, culture and talent of this small and exceptional island.
