In this episode of Easy Russian with the help of the 1420 team travelled to the streets of Moscow to find out the opinion of passers-by on an important question: is there freedom of speech in Russia? The answers were ambiguous and even contradictory. Some believe that freedom of speech exists, but with restrictions and consequences, while others are convinced that it does not exist at all. We discuss topical issues such as censorship, self-censorship and the risk of being punished for one's position. You will see how Muscovites perceive freedom of expression in the modern context and what topics they consider dangerous to discuss.
