Komitas (1869-1935) was an Armenian composer, musicologist, medievalist, ethnographer-folklorist, choirmaster, singer, and poet. He is considered the founder of the Armenian national tradition of art music. Komitas’ work and artistic legacy have played a key role in the history of Armenian music and in the crystallization of the Armenian national identity paradigm.
Hasmik Torosyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. She graduated from the Romanos Melikyan Music College where she studied with T. Hambardzumyan; and from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where she studied with G. Geghamyan. Hasmik won a number of national and international awards, including the First Prize and Golden Medal in the Armenian Republic Competition named after Gohar Gasparyan; the President's Prize and Gold Medal for Young Singers of Armenia; the First Prize in the Bella voce international competition in Moscow, and was a finalist at the 6th Seoul International Music Competition.

Giulio Zappa was born in Monza. He completed his musical studies under the guidance of Oleg Marshev, graduating in piano performance with the highest distinction. At the same time, he graduated in foreign languages and literatures at the State University of Milan with a thesis on Russian opera, also with the highest distinction, under the guidance of Fausto Malcovati and Francesco Degrada. Zappa trained as a repertoire pianist in Milan, in Bianca Maria Casoni’s singing class. He then studied with Aldo Ciccolini and Irwin Gage, with the latter in the repertoire of vocal chamber music, which has always been Zappa’s greatest passion.
He has performed in the most important halls in the world, including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Wigmore Hall London, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Bolshoy Theatre Moscow, Rudolfinum Prague, Palau de la Música Catalana Barcelona.
