In this video series, I'm testing and sharing my rice water results with you, plus the real way to make the rice water recipe made popular by the Yao women. Why? I’m not sure if you’ve seen the many videos from influencers claiming that rice water gives them “extreme and fast hair growth.” “Super soft hair” and even “Incredibly shiny and manageable hair.”

But when you watch their videos there’s no evidence of growth to be found. It all ends in these people stretching their hair, saying something like, “Wow, can you believe all this hair growth?” Seriously? Something smells funky and it might not just be the rice water.

Honestly, I laughed OUT LOUD and dismissed the YouTubers making these videos as plain clowns. However, as I searched for signs of evidence, I found the story of the original rice water rinsing influencers, Japanese women in the 700s. Wait, you thought the OGs were the Chinese Yao women? Nope.

So, we got two ancient female tribes claiming rice water is what generates extreme hair growth and super beautiful and strong hair. Maybe the influencers I laughed at were not lying clowns. Or maybe myths, culture and clickbaiters have taken us all for a ride?
