Luigi Tenco (Cassine, 21 marzo 1938 – Sanremo, 27 gennaio 1967) è stato un cantautore e attore italiano o, come lui stesso amava definirsi, un compositore. Il suo suicidio, avvenuto in un albergo di Sanremo durante l'edizione del 1967 del Festival della canzone italiana, lasciò sgomento e destò scalpore nell'ambiente musicale e nella società italiana in generale.
Insieme a Fabrizio De André, Bruno Lauzi, Gino Paoli e Umberto Bindi è uno degli esponenti della cosiddetta scuola genovese, un nucleo di artisti che rinnovò profondamente la musica leggera italiana.
