This documentary traces how Florida became the weakest wall of a collapsing empire — and how a series of quiet decisions, failed defenses, and diplomatic pressure made its loss inevitable.
Rather than a sudden conquest, Florida was absorbed through gradual occupation, collapsing supply lines, and a final treaty that recorded what had already happened on the ground.
By the time the Adams–Onís Treaty was signed, Florida no longer belonged to Spain in any meaningful sense.
