Taste tells two parallel stories, the first of the singer John Dhali and the second of the interment moments between a couple. The story focuses on a couple breaking up, finding a way to move forward on their own, and the memories they have made together, both happy and sad. John became the story's narrator, as his song allowed us, the audience, to glimpse into this couple's lives. John's own story is one of exploration; his arrival at the ocean symbolizes the final step in his journey to freedom. The final scene ends with the couple running into each other on the busy streets, leaving their next choice open for the audience's interpretation.
