Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Scales & Tales with a quick Hybrid Pentatonic Scale Workout. I've had this sequenced hybrid pentatonic idea for a long time and have shared it with countless students over the years. It's a great one of waking up your frethand, synching your pickhand/frethand together, tackling a variety of position shifts along the fretboard, and much more - so let's dive in!
This lesson revolves around a sequenced hybrid pentatonic scale that outlines a B7-A7-E7 progression (V-IV-I) in E major. As you'll find in this video, we're moving through three octaves of this scale using this sequenced phrase, while also moving it through the descending B7-A7-E7 progression. You'll also discover that we're moving from the top of the fretboard to the bottom as this workout unfolds - so it's great for a variety of technique boosts in your playing and one heck of a workout!
Needless to say, if you're looking for something new to challenge your technique and fretboard skills, a player wanting additional insight into using hybrid pentatonic scales, a guitarist searching for a new exercise to woodshed, or maybe you're just curious what all the fuss is about - this lesson is totally for you! Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
