In this video I break down why buying things you enjoy isn’t a moral failure, why Black Friday chaos isn’t “capitalism gone wild” so much as people losing their minds, and why thoughtful consumer habits are completely normal.

I walk through a simple two-question test I use before I buy anything, and use a few recent examples — reusable ice cubes, a CVS discount I actually needed, and yes, even McDonald’s free fries — to show what sane, healthy consumer behavior looks like.

Then we get into the unhinged stuff: the Bearista glass meltdown, people screaming at employees, hoarding merch to scalp it, and the Black Friday mobs who act like they’re storming a fortress. That’s not “consumerism.” That’s people short-circuiting.

If you want to enjoy a collectible, appreciate a fandom item, or grab a deal that fits your life? Great. Just don’t turn into a feral creature because a store ran out of something.

Consumerism isn’t evil.
